This week was particularly stressful: we were told we had to record our first podcast as a rehearsal, and we only had a few hours to prepare. This caused quite a bit of stress, but working as a team helped get the job done.

How it went

We allocated roles to make efficient use of time. I was the host and Noah and Logan were my guests. Anna and Olivia took over the camera work (we shot on two Panasonic cameras) and Jay was the Floor Manager. We recorded the sound through a Rode system to achieve high quality.

The idea behind the podcast

The idea behind the podcast was to interview my guests about their experiences listening to podcasts and what they think the perfect podcast is. I prepared some of the questions in advance, but some of it had to be improvised on the run, which made the interview more lively and natural.

Personal challenges

For me, the most challenging part was performing in front of the camera. I'm not used to being the centre of attention, and English is not my first language, so mistakes happened during filming. But it was a rewarding experience that helped me develop confidence.

We also faced a problem with the microphones - they partially covered the faces of the characters. We managed it partially, but we still have to work on improving the technical side to get a perfect picture.

In the end, this experience was very rewarding. The podcast will become part of my research as the questions were related to topics that will help me in creating the final project. It was lively and sincere, and I'm glad that our team worked well together.

Every step taught us something new, and I'm sure the next project will be even better!
